On Sunday our CPD in Myofascial Release Discovery Day took place at The Well Retreat. Declan Clark of Innercore Therapy and Caren Benstead of Divine Therapy welcomed students for a day of learning and treating clients. Here’s what Declan had to say about the day.
Our day of Myofascial work at the Well School on Sunday 12th was one of exploration and adventure into a new area for those who attended. Some bodyworkers and some movement teachers worked together to learn how the areas between the muscles, skin and viscera, move, stick, make shapes and communicate. Fascia is a watery world of hormones, nutrients, prostaglandins and proteins. Sugars and fats too. A marvel of biological soup, working for us, every second of our lives. You can tell I like it? Really?
Caren had arranged for some of her movement group and clients to come to the school to be part of the learning as well. They learned, they received some of the work, they shared their experiences of glitches and recoveries in fascia. Our therapists had an opportunity to work safely under supervision and ask questions as they assimilated and processed their new-found skills.
I felt that The Well School’s atmosphere made the learning experience relaxed and undaunting. Knowledge was gained through the sheer joy of new information and the fun of working with others, to make people well.
